Name: Lee Kwan
DOB: October 19, 1987
Age: 20
Race: Half-breed
Weapon: Water Song Wushu Broadsword [image]
Appearance: Carries the mark of the half-breeds with dark red hair and eyes. He is pale of skin and has a youkai mark upon his left cheek. His fiery red hair is medium length and is usually in mild disarray. He is average height and weight though his body is toned from martial arts and sword training. His face is usually serious and he tends to lock his eyes upon another in a rather overwhelming manner when speaking to someone, hardly ever blinking. He also has a long scar traveling the length of his spine, an old injury that still causes him emotional pain.
Personality: All in all Lee is a put together guy. He is composed and civil to those he meets, however he is a loner by nature and thus does not seek conversation normally. He seems more focused on sword fighting then on people and it is hard to keep his interest for more than a few moments before you can tell his far off eyes aren’t taking in a word you are saying. He is, however, schizophrenic and his other personality couldn’t be more different. Charming, amiable and yet with a dark maniacally glint to his red eyes, this side to him that he simply calls Fire, often lures unsuspecting humans or other youkai into a trap and proceeds to brutally attack them using the sword techniques he has learned over the years.
Personal History: Lee was born in the northern part of China. His father was a youkai while his mother was a human. Despite the dangers of them staying together, they did so, raising their only son in a world that saw him as nothing more than a taboo. Lee got along well though, even if he did isolate himself to protect himself from being hurt by anyone as he could clearly see the scorn in people’s eyes when they looked at him. But he was happy all the same as his father spent much time with him training him in martial arts and the art of the sword. He did not notice the rising tension in the town however, as the humans naturally did not trust the family as they lived in a remote part of China where the youkai were more violent towards humans in those parts. It happened when Lee was eight years old, he heard mutterings about the town about a vicious attack. He thought he heard his father’s name being spoken, but upon seeing him, the mutterings subsided and the usual scornful looks were thrown in his direction.
It was late that night when his mother shook him awake frantically. Lee stared at her in confusion but she shushed him when he tried to speak. He noticed a glow outside the window. Now that he was awake he could hear angry voices. His father arguing with people. He stood up and made to move to the door but his mother stopped him, holding him back. The people were accusing his father of the youkai attacks, saying that if it wasn’t him then they were accomplices. His father truthfully denied this fact, but the yelling was growing louder, the glow was growing closer, his father’s voice grew frantic. Suddenly Lee could hear the sound of his father’s sword being drawn as the yelling suddenly got much closer and the pounding of feet could be heard. Lee could hear the furious battle rage outside the door, however, soon the sound of a body fell heavily against the door. Cheering ensued and suddenly a dark shape was thrown through the window. Lee was met by his father’s wide eyes and open mouth, his decapitated head had been thrown in. Lee slowly started to fade away.
The people charged into the house demanding for blood. Lee’s mother desperately pleaded with them, shielding her son from them. The people of the town laughed cruelly and then attacked, killing Lee’s mother right before his eyes, her blood splashing over his face. A humming entered Lee’s mind. These people, they had never trusted him, never counted him as part of the town just because he was slightly different. Lee disappeared. Fire emerged for the first time. A shadow passed the youth’s face as he was pulled outside. He was thrown to the ground, a sword was raised to finish him in the same manner as his father. A crazed grin crossed Fire’s face and he took up his father’s sword. He moved through them like flames, consuming their lives on after the other, his voice ringing out into the night in delighted laughter. He was still not trained enough though so he did not attempt to kill them all, he merely cut open a path and disappeared. When Lee next woke, he was far from the town, the memories of the previous night both clear and hazy in his mind. He remembered the demise of his parents, he did not recall how he got here or why he was holding his father’s sword and covered in blood.
Lee ran then, ran as far as he could go until he found a city far away that was not so mistrustful of youkai. There he lived on the streets for a few years until he was able to make money by challenging people to fights. He trained regularly and even took on a few students at the age of fifteen, but he was restless and decided to spend his days wandering. Now he is interested in what has caused the minus wave and hopes to stop it and to figure out why he blacks out and winds up covered in gore.
Job: Doesn’t really have a steady job. He fights for money and will often take on students for a few months and if he gets really desperate he’ll steal from people.
Strengths/Weaknesses: Fire is incredibly strong because he doesn't care about his own life and therefore takes risks his opponent will not but Lee is completely unaware of his existence and so every time he wakes up surrounded by blood he feels his mental composure crack just a bit more.
